Dr. Gabriel Chamblin of Spanish Fort says you should never be scared to go to the dentist.  He even showed us some tools he uses to distract a patient when some procedures are being performed.

Dr. Chamblin says your oral health can affect every aspect of your life and should be taken seriously.  Especially when you consider that Alabama is ranked number three out of cities with the worst teeth.  Information about that study can be found below.

Does your city fall short when it comes to what it takes to have a healthy, attractive smile? A vast majority of Americans neglect their oral health simply because of their fear of the dentist and anxiety about pain. According to a study by TotalBeauty.com , Mobile ranks #3 on the list!

What makes a beautiful smile? Irwin Smigel, DDS., founder and president of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics and creator of Supersmile, says regular dentist visits, not smoking, minimizing your coffee, soda and red wine intake, and brushing and flossing. Other factors, like having hard water or a dry climate, can also stain teeth or create a dry mouth.

Mobile is #3 on the list and according to totalbeauty.com , it has a lot working against healthy teeth. It's the number 5 smokiest city, and the state is number 4 in most teeth loss. It's number 48 in dentists per capita and number 47 in exercise.
