MOBILE, Ala. - All the latest gadgets will be on display at the Consumer Electronics Show this week, and some big tech names will be front and center.
The Consumer Electronics Association says spending on gadgets will rise to $1.1 trillion dollars this year. The majority of that will be on tablets and smartphones. By the end of the year, 44% of us households are expected to own a tablet.
Bieber fever is spreading to the prepaid card industry. Financial company, Bill-My-Parents, says Bieber will promote its new prepaid debit card. You should know that the Bieber-endorsed card has a nearly four-dollar monthly fee and a dollar fifty ATM withdrawal fee.
If you're getting back on the fitness track, your smartphone can help.
The "Lose It" app helps users create a weight-loss goal and customizes a daily calorie budget of food and exercise to meet that goal. It even includes calorie content for restaurant foods.
The "Fooducate" app lets users scan a food product's barcode to unlock information about hidden ingredients.
And "Gym-Pact" for iPhone let's you set a weekly target for check-ins at the gym. If you meet your goal with Gym-Pact, you'll add up small rewards for each day. If you don't, you'll have to pay money!
