Shrimp Corn dogs & Egg in a hole

INGREDIENTS: Shrimp corn dogs
1/4 cup Corn meal
1/4 cup Flour
2 tbl Sugar
1/4 tsp Baking powder
1 Small egg
1/4 cup milk
Pinch of salt and pepper
10 Shrimp, peeled, deveined, no tail
10 Wooden skewers
1/4 cup Cornstarch
Oil for frying

STEPS:
Mix first six ingredients in a bowl until combined and set aside.  

Bring a pot of oil up to 360 degrees. 

Season shrimp with salt and pepper, then coat with cornstarch. Remember to knock off any excess cornstarch and then coat with batter.  Fry until evenly browned on all side.  Remove from oil and insert skewer.  Serve with dipping sauce of choice.

INGREDIENTS: Egg in a hole
2 Slices of white bread
2 Quail eggs
1/4 cup Maple syrup
2 tbl Brown sugar
1 tsp Tabasco
2 slices Bacon, thick cut
1 tbl Butter

STEPS:
Cut a small how out of bread slices using a cookie cutter.  Set Aside.

Mix together maple syrup, brown sugar and Tabasco.  Coat slices of bacon in mixture and cook in 350 degree oven until crispy.
Add butter to a non-stick pan, cook white bread and add quail egg to the hole in the bread. Cook egg until it's over easy, flipping once.  Place on plate, crumble bacon on top and drizzle with remainder of maple syrup mixture

SPECIAL EVENT INFORMATION:
Children's of Alabama returns for the 8th year to host it's "Tee off Fore a Cure" on February 22 and 23, 2013. 

The pre-party and silent auction on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at the Wash House will kick off the weekend.  The event costs $25 per person and includes food, beverages and live music.  Pre-party guests can also bid on silent
auction items throughout the evening including more than 80 items such as weekend beach getaways, clothes, jewelry, University of Alabama football keepsakes and 40 different pieces of art by local artists.  This event is open to the public.

The golf tournament will take place at Lakewood Golf Club, at 1 Grand Boulevard in Point Clear, on Saturday.  This year's Tee off weekend also includes a new fundraiser, Gracie's Ball Drop.  Up to 1,000 pre-sold, numbered golf balls will be dropped from a hot air balloon over a hole at Lakewood just before the first tee off. The first ball in or closest to the hole will win 50 percent of the ball.  For more information, click here .
