Instagram plans to modify terms

Daily Tech for Dec. 19, 2012

MOBILE, Ala. - Apple may be partnering with the popular  app, Foursquare.  It's the app that helps people find local places and tells their friends where they are.

Apple is reportedly in early discussions with Foursquare for a data-sharing deal.  That deal would be a strategic shift for Apple because for years Apple has relied primarily on Google's location data.

The social media giant, Twitter,  has some big news. Last September, twitter reported one hundred million active users. Now, just a few months later, that active user number has doubled.

With two hundred million active monthly users, Twitter tweeted a  message on its official account saying, "The Twitter-sphere is the pulse of the planet."

Instagram has shaken up the pulse of the internet. On Monday Instagram announced that as of January 16th there will be new terms that allow them to share information with Facebook and use your pictures and identity in advertisements. The only way to opt out is to delete your account.

This did not go over well with many users who, in turn,  vowed to drop Instagram.

Yesterday, Instagram's co-founder posted a blog saying, "We've heard loud and clear that many users are confused and upset about what the changes mean".... He says, "...we're listening and to commit to you that we will be doing more to answer your questions, fix any mistakes, and eliminate the confusion...."

Instagram says it will modify specific parts of the terms to make it more clear what will happen with your photos.

That's your Daily Tech.
