We all could use a little extra cash in our lives, so Derica Williams tells you about ways to make extra income without doing much work. If you have a beach home or a home in a great location and travel a lot, why not rent out an extra room?
Take a look at www.airbnb.com, it’s a fast-growing peer-to-peer lodging website, some folks charge about $100 a night depending on time of year and location. But if renting out a room in your home to a stranger isn't for you-- what about renting out your car?
Car-sharing companies, such as Relayrides , Justshareit and Getaround , help car owners rent their vehicles to neighbors and visitors by the hour, day or week.
You can set your own rates, and the potential to make money is strong. Car owners at Getaround, can earn about $2,000 a year. At Relayrides, the company says the average car owners earn between $200 and $300 a month.
Tons of folks are also cashing in, while running everyday errands like food shopping, getting a haircut or going out to eat. That's because they're mystery shopping . Some retailers pay marketing companies to hire individuals to secretly review their products and services.
Mystery shopping may not pay that much, but the perks are great and shoppers usually get substantial freebies - free groceries, clothes, beauty treatments, all just for conducting undercover surveys.
