With the unemployment numbers constantly fluctuating, Derica Williams has some good news for job seekers in Wednesday’s “Dollars and Sense.”
If you’re looking for a job, you may be tired of constantly scouring the same old job search engines. The websites where thousands of people are vying for the same job that may or may not be open.
Now, there is a new website that just started. USA.jobs is efficient and effective when it comes to recruiting for local jobs with big companies.
You can search by state and by city. The project is being called dot jobs for short and the website is being operated by the nonprofit Direct Employers Association.
When you log on, you can type in your city or profession to narrow your search. The dot jobs website connects you to hundreds of thousands of big named companies as well as small organizations.
There are also jobs with federal, state and local government agencies, educational institutions and non-profit organizations.
Job listings in the .jobs universe are integrated with social media such as Facebook, Linkedin, Twitter, Youtube and others.
The site just started recently, and it’s expected to grow even more popular. New jobs are added daily with special emphasis on veterans and military, people with disabilities, diversity, green jobs and many others. It’s perfect for job seekers and employers.
