Records for Galaxy S-3 & Apple

MOBILE, Ala. - Smartphone buyers are going after Samsung's Galaxy Android in record numbers. The Samsung Galaxy S-3 is officially one of the fastest-selling smartphones in the world!

Samsung says it only took about five months to sell more than 30 million Galaxy S-3 smartphones. It took fourteen months for the Galaxy S-2 to reach 30 million sales.

Samsung has reported record profits since the launch of the Galaxy S-3 back in May.

The overall lines may have been shorter for Apple's iPad mini debut, but when you combine the numbers with the 4th generation iPad, Apple CEO Tim Cook says the tech company set a new launch record over the weekend.

Cook says Apple sold 3 million iPads in just three days since the launch of the iPad mini and the fourth generation iPad on Friday. Cook also says that the mini's are almost sold out.

Facebook has some advice for people who spend too much time on Facebook! A picture of a birthday cake was posted to Facebook's timeline saying, "Birthday cakes are made for people to be together. They give friends a place to gather and celebrate. But too much cake probably isn't healthy. So birthday cake is a lot like Facebook."

That's just a little something to keep in mind as we indulge in our social networking. But of course, don't cut back until after commenting on Studio 10's hot topic question every morning!

You can see what else Facebook is like by (you guessed it), going to it's Facebook page !  It's a vicious cycle. That's your Daily Tech.
