Everyone is talking about the Royal Wedding, and every bride is paying close attention to all the royal details of the wedding. But with an estimated $34-million price tag, it's not ikely that most of us who are planning a wedding will be able to afford to have a wedding of that calibur.
Leading Entertaining Expert, David Tutera is a celebrity wedding planner, and the star of “My Fair Wedding” on WE TV. He has been featured on Oprah, CNN, E!, and in People, USA Today, In Touch, Cosmopolitan, and Town & Country.
David says it's easy to plan a Royal Wedding without the Royal Price Tag. Of course it all starts with the ring. Some jewelers have said that Kate Middleton's engagement ring is estimated around $1-million. That's pretty steep, but your future husband can get a beautiful engagement ring for much less.
David says classic engagement ring styles are back! Look for an elegant polished platinum or white gold setting with a solitaire diamond, or a vintage-inspired style with filigree. We are also going to see engagement rings with a variety of floral motifs this year.
After you have your ring, it's time to choose your dress. You're going to see a lot of flowers on wedding dresses this year. You'll also see an abundance of tulle, chiffon, organza, super-light taffeta and lace. For the first time in many seasons, we're seeing the return of big ball gowns.
David also says brides are opting to "do it yourself." From wedding invitations, to favors, there are many ways you can save money on your wedding, and personalize your decor by doing it yourself. Doing things yourself will also help you stay within your budget when decorating for your reception.
