Thomas needs a loving home

Thomas is a male Shepherd mix and is approximately 2 years old. He is a large dog and weighs about 75 pounds. For no fault of his own, Thomas has been returned to ARF due to his owners job responsibilities requiring extensive travel. When Thomas was about 8 months old, a kind man who found him in the woods near his worksite rescued him. Thomas was in horrible condition and had the worst embedded collar that our veterinarian had ever seen. With a lot of TLC and care, Thomas healed quickly and is now a healthy happy boy!

Thomas is a fun loving, curious dog. He is playful and loves to fetch! Thomas likes the water whether it is playing in a kiddie pool, wading in a lake or visits to the ocean. Thomas is an alpha male and gets along well with other dogs that are about his size. He is not good with cats. He loves nothing more than to lay next to you on the couch or at your feet. 

Thomas is kennel, potty and command trained (sit, shake, down). He alerts when he has to go potty. He will need an owner who can give him attention and play with him or an owner that has another dog, so they can play with each other. Thomas is extremely loyal and eager to please and would be a wonderful companion.
