MOBILE, Ala. - Microsoft announced yesterday that the Windows Phone 8 will have 46 of the top 50 mobile apps, plus one year of ad-free Pandora.
A lack of apps for the Windows platform has been an issue with buyers in the past. The ad-free Pandora will be available in 2013. Some of the apps migrating over the Windows platform include Living Social, Urban Spoon, and Angry Birds Star Wars.
Apple CEO Tim Cook has fired the head of the mobile software group, Scott Forstall, and the retail chief. Forstall recently refused to sign an open letter apologizing for the Apple Maps launch.
FEMA has taken to Twitter with some advice for communicating with those affected by superstorm Sandy.
Yesterday, FEMA tweeted: “Phone lines may be congested during/after #Sandy. Let loved ones know you’re OK by sending a text or updating your social networks.
