Tropical Storm Ida Shelters

GULF COAST - If you go to a public evacuation shelter, you will need to take the following items:

  • Personal identification
  • A change of clothing, rain gear and sturdy shoes.
  • Toiletries and personal items.
  • Blankets or sleeping bags.
  • Identification and any important papers.
  • Games or toys for children; books for adults.
  • Special items for infants or elderly family members.
  • Any special dietary needs and nonperishable foods for snacks.
  • Battery operated radio, flashlights and plenty of spare batteries.
  • Prescription medications or any over-the-counter medications you normally take.
  • Those with special needs must come with their own caregiver.

Shelter Listings

Mobile County:

  • Cranford Burns Middle School will serve as a special needs shelter. Opens at 3pm
  • Satsuma High School opens at 3pm
  • Theodore High School opens at 3pm

Baldwin County:

  • The Baldwin County Coliseum located on Fairground Rd. in Robertsdale is an open shelter. Call (251) 972-6807 for assistance with transportation.

Escambia County, FL:

  • Pensacola High School gymnasium on Maxwell Street opens at 10am.
  • Molino Park Elementary School at 8-9-9 State Road 97 opens at 10am.
  • West Florida Technical School at 2400 Longleaf Drive opens at Noon as a special needs shelter.
     

Santa Rosa County:

  • Milton Community Center located at 5629 Byrom Street in Milton opens at 10am and will serve as a general public and special needs shelter.  Anyone needing transportation assistance to a shelter, call (850) 983-4636.
