MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile County Public Schools are open Thursday, and the buses are running. However, some parents have voiced concern to FOX10 News about roads being flooded in their area.

Nancy Pierce with the Mobile County Public School System spoke with FOX10 News and said that if parents are concerned, they can keep their children home. The absence will be excused, and will not count against their annual attendance.

If you do plan to keep your child home, Pierce suggests calling the school and let them know that your child is safe at home.

Pierce also said that bus drivers are aware of alternate routes to take if their is flooding on the road.

However, if your child is already at school, don't go pick them up, because the concern is being on the roads.
