ORANGE BEACH, Ala.(WALA) - Residents in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores continue to deal with flood waters and high storm surge from Hurricane Isaac.

In Orange Beach, the flood waters cover Jubilee Point, just passed Tacky Jacks, causing problems for some homeowners.

Chris Story and his wife Lisa say they just moved into their waterfront home three months ago. The pair says flood waters pushed its way into their home Tuesday night.

“We had about 7 inches in the house and I guess within the last hour it’s all run out of the house,” said Chris Story.

Lisa said, “We're glad to be safe and healthy and if we lose a couple of things here and there but really we were lucky. We feel like we were very lucky and fortunate. ”

Neighbors helped the pair dry out the home and bleach affected walls.

All across Orange Beach and Gulf Shores the effects of Isaac still linger, more than 24 hours after the hurricane made landfall in Louisiana.

Chris and Lisa said they lucked out and hope the flood waters don’t rise again as Isaac makes his exit.

“We're hoping that we won’t get the rain and the surge and the floods to come back,” said Chris. “We're keeping our fingers crossed that we don't wake up to high tide tomorrow morning with more water in the house. ”
