MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Tornado watches were in effect early Thursday morning, and tornado sirens sounded off mid-morning.
Severe weather moved through the southern part of Alabama, bringing heavy rain and strong winds.
The severe weather followed an outbreak of severe weather earlier Monday. Officials say 10 tornadoes ripped through the state. Two people, a 16-year-old girl and an elderly man, were killed.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch covering 40 counties, which is in effect until 5 p.m. CST.
The tornado watch does not affect the FOX10 News viewing area.
