Sweet slices of life from the web

INDIANAPOLIS - Get Wired isn’t always funny bits and bobs from the Internet. Sometimes it’s more than just for fun. Sometimes it’s more about spreading wonderful creations, thoughts and ideas that otherwise could not be shared if the Internet didn't exist.

Through the web, social media outlets and even email, little sweet gems still seem to slip through the barrage of memes, rehashed parodies and downright candid craziness.

Take this video piece entitled “The Beauty of a Second,” which was a collab of entries in which filmmakers were asked to submit one second of what they considered beauty.

Eye of the beholder

The folks at Mont Blanc watches wanted to celebrate the 190 years of the chronograph, invented by Nicholas Reiussec, and requested entries that “celebrated the fragile beauty of this short-lived unit of time.” – Mont Blanc

This video was the result.

And honestly, it is beautiful.

Mid-life crisis averted

Just scratch this one off the bucket list. This naturist/pianist turns 50, and for his birthday travels to Thailand to play music for blind and aged elephants at this elephant sanctuary. Apparently they love Beethoven.

Teaching old dogs new tricks - like disco

I am always going off about cats ruling the Internet, but apparently dogs were taking over way before the Internet was even invented.

Leave it to Chevy Chase to just be freaking awesome. Here is a clip from his 1977 show, "The Chevy Chase Show," tweeted by WMFU radio.  Also: TIM CONWAY. ‘Nuff said.

Pro-Tip: Want to add a sweet radio station to your listening list? WFMU, highly recommended.

Don't forget! NYAN CAT says: You will follow Twinkle on Twitter. You will follow Twinkle on Tumblr . You will smile and return next week for another Get Wired.
