CAIRO (AP) — An Egyptian Bedouin who has kidnapped two Americans and their guide says he'll take more hostages of different nationalities if police don't release his uncle from prison.

But the man (Jirmy Abu-Masuh) from the Tarbeen tribe in the Sinai Peninsula tells The Associated Press that the hostages will remain safe.

He says his American captives, a man and woman from Boston, have been treated as "guests." He says they've been given tea, coffee and a traditional lamb dinner reserved for special occasions, and that the man was even allowed to phone his wife.

The two Americans were abducted Friday in broad daylight in a bus loaded with dozens of other tourists along a major road linking Cairo to the sixth-century St. Catherine's Monastery.
