HEEIA KEA PIER, Hawaii (CNN/KHON) - A 10-year-old boy in Hawaii snagged an unusual catch while fishing.

The youngster scooped a strange looking octopus out of the ocean. Webbing in between four of the octopus' tentacles made the catch unique.

Rocky Hawn says his unusual find even left regulars at Heeia Kea Pier scratching their heads.

Waikiki Aquarium's director tentatively identified the creature as a Tremoctopus gracilis, better known as a blanket octopus. It's a free swimming octopus that lives near the surface or mid-waters of subtropical and tropical oceans.
