The Coast Guard suspended its search late Wednesday, May 15 for missing kayaker Joseph Kane of Pensacola, Fla. For more than 74 hours, the Coast Guard air and boat crews along with multiple federal, state and local responders searched an area of 5,679 square-nautical miles in search of Kane.

A ceremony will be held on May 4 at Johnson Beach in Perdido Key to honor the first African-American from the Pensacola area to die in the Korean War.
