MOBILE, Ala. - It looks like Microsoft's new Windows 8 operating system could be hurting PC sales.
The research firm, IDC says worldwide shipments of laptop and desktop computers fell fourteen percent in the first quarter from a year earlier. Instead, people are picking up smart phones and tablets.
IDC says Windows 8 has not only failed to drive more PC demand, but has actually made the slowdown worse by confusing buyers with features that don't excel in tablets, and compromise the traditional PC experience.
The IRS doesn't believe it needs a search warrant to read your email, texts, Facebook chats, and other private messages. The agency says internet users do not have a reasonable expectation of privacy.
The stance places the IRS at odds with many lawmakers, who believe that Americans' personal messages should be protected.
