MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The Mobile County Sheriff's Office said two men were arrested and charged with trafficking marijuana after a routine traffic stop revealed 30 pounds of marijuana.
Deputies said the driver, Milton Fluellen, Jr., of Houston, said he and his passenger, Chadwick Sparks, were traveling to Atlanta to see a girl.
Officials said Sparks, the registered owner of the 2003 BMW and also of Houston, said he didn't know why they were going to Atlanta.
A consensual search revealed a small bag of marijuana in the passenger area of the car. A further search revealed 30 pounds of marijuana in the speaker box in the car's trunk.
The vehicle, marijuana and $1,674 in currency was seized during the traffic stop.
As of Friday, Dec. 7, both men remained in Mobile Metro Jail.
