MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - South Alabama hosted its mid-summer 7 on 7 – twelve teams came out to work on skills and sharpen up before the real kick off.
"Its competition, you know any time you have 7 on 7 – sometimes it gets a little bit too competitive and they get after it. We try to tell them, look, let's get out here and work – but we don't want to get in fights and things like that over a 7 on 7 competition," said South Alabama Football Coach, Joey Jones.
"For the University of South Alabama – having these people on our campus is really good and it's good for the City of Mobile."
The city was well represented with schools like – LeFlore, Baker, Alma Bryant and Davidson.
"We get to know the high school coaches really well. We spend 4 hours with them, get them on our campus, and I think it's good to do that," said Jones.
An arrest has been made in the robbery to the Country Breeze convenience store on Old Pascagoula Road in Grand Bay.

Three people are dead after a shooting near the University of South Alabama Tuesday, December 10. Mobile Police said China Barber, Augustus Bennett, and Robert Sprinkle were the victims of what police call a murder-suicide.
