Apple's App store is celebrating its fifth year. But instead of passing out cake, the company is giving away some of its more popular applications.
When the app store first hit the scene in 2008, only 500 apps were available, including eBay and Facebook.
Today, it's grown to more than 900,000.
Apple is sharing the love and support by offering 10 "ground breaking and landmark" apps for free, some of which are normally up to $19.99.
In the apps department: Day One Journal, which makes chronicling the journey of your life easier with tech tools that add much more than your standard diary, is on the list. Along with photo editing app Over and How to Cook Everything , which as the name suggest helps you learn how to cook gourmet recipes.
No word from Apple on how long the offer will last, so download them while you still can.
