SEMMES, Ala. (WALA) - Baker High School's HiQ team won the fifth match in the 2013 academic contest.
The competition took place in the Mary G. Montgomery High School auditorium. Baker held the lead at halftime with an 11 point lead over MGM. Baker more than doubled its score by the conclusion of the match.
The final score was Baker 44, Mary G. Montgomery 29 and Williamson 6.
All 15 schools have now competed once. At the end of three rounds of competition, the top scoring team receives a bye to the HiQ Championship, which will be held March 7 at the Renaissance Mobile Riverview Plaza Hotel. The second to seventh place teams will compete in a semi-final series which will determine the teams which will participate in the Championship.
