MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - All of our kids need a little something special to help themsucceed in life. And, today, I am going to tell you about a summercamp that provides just that. It literally changes lives! It'sUnited Cerebral Palsy's Camp Smile!
It's a camp designed to help kids and adults with specialneeds. Camp Smile is just like any other summer camp. It's asleep-away camp. Campers go for a week at a time. Each week isdivided up by age. Campers enjoy all things summer camp in a reallyfun - and busy - week.
Camp Smile Co-Director Kerry Tran explains, "it is thatopportunity for these kids to do regular recreational summer thingsthat everybody else gets to do, kind of as a matter of course. It'smuch harder for our campers to get the opportunity to play sportsand horseback ride and take arts and crafts classes and buildrockets - that's one of our activities we're doing this summer."
