CHICKASAW, Ala. (WALA) - Chickasaw Police are asking for your help in trying to find two men wanted in a dollar store robbery.
We've obtained surveillance video from the crime.
Police are looking for two men in connection with the robbery of the Family Dollar Store on South Craft Highway shortly before 9:30 Thursday, July 11.
First, they said a man they describe as a person of interest came in about twenty minutes before closing.
There's a clear picture of him.
SECOND MAN INVOLVED
Sergeant Tommy McDuffie said, "He goes in about 20 minutes to 9. About 10 minutes to 9, he leaves. A few minutes later, this gentleman enters, but does not leave the store."
Police said this man had a gun, and they believe he knew the store had a surveillance camera, because he kept his head down, and went into a store room.
McDuffie said, "As the cashiers went to the storeroom to look for him, they immediately turn around, and that's when we see the guy in the purple shirt holding the gun running behind the cashiers as they were running back to the store, out of the stockroom."
Police said the man had a gun on the cashiers, and forced them to open the safe.
He took an undetermined amount of money and cigarettes, and fled out the side door.
McDuffie said, "The gunman was wearing a long sleeved purple shirt with faded blue jeans, stonewashed colored blue jeans. The second suspect is wearing a bright colored bandana across his face, with dark colored cap, dark t-shirt and real baggy black pants. He was also barefooted."
Police hope the surveillance video will lead to more clues and arrests.
