Hearts were heavy at Lighthouse Temple Holiness Church. Hawthorne said, "[We] just miss him. We had good times. I just seen him a couple of weeks ago."
Family members like Miryah Hawthorne are remembering the good times as they try to come to terms with the death of two people whose lives were taken. Glenn Sullivan is being laid to rest a day before his birthday, and beside him lies his grandfather, Willie.
Clarence Frison said, "It's still hard to believe something like that happened, especially with a child."
Friends filled the church to pay their last respects. Pictures and flowers were everywhere. Glenn and Willie were given an emotional home-going with prayers and songs of comfort. A friend of Willie's and Glenn's teacher expressed the impact the victims had.
Glenn was compared to a jewel, always to be remembered and treasured. As they said their final goodbyes, loved ones said they'll continue to pray, stay positive and find peace in knowing these two victims lived fulfilling lives.
Hawthorne said, "He was a good person. He had a good heart. He liked to help people, and he was just sweet."
Frison added, "[It] gives me a peace of mind that he's going to heaven."
The two victims were laid to rest at Lawn Haven Cemetery in Theodore.
