PRCHARD, Ala. (WALA) - An Eight Mile gas station cashier was beaten and robbed at gun point, and it was all caught on video.
It was her last day working at the Petro station on Saint Stephens Road, when two men walked inside the store just before 8 a..m Sunday, June 30.
"She will no longer be working at a gas station nor in Prichard," said the victim's daughter, whom wished to remain anonymous.
The two suspects entered, robbed and beat the cashier with a pistol, then left. That's when the woman calls her daughter for help.
"She said, ‘Please help.' I was attacked - he has a gun, I've been robbed, call 911,'" said the victim's daughter.
In the video one of the suspects, wearing a black t-shirt, kicks through a locked door, enters the cashier's booth and assaults the cashier with a handgun.
It's what we can't see, in the back office, that is most disturbing.
"[She told me] he hit her over the head - so bad - the clip fell out of the gun and he pulled the trigger three times. He tried to kill her, she heard the gun click three times," said her daughter.
Meanwhile, the second suspect, in a white t-shirt, enters the cashier's booth and takes whatever he can get his hands on.
A surveillance camera got a good look at him.
"We know his name. We know he drives a green Pontiac Grand-Am. We have his cell phone number. We gave all that to the police," said the victim's daughter.
The woman needed treatment at a local hospital Sunday, June 30. She is expected to make a full recovery.
We called the Prichard Police Department Monday, July 1, but no one from the department has returned our call.
"They (the police) said they were going to locate the two men and arrest them for armed robbery. They know (his) name, but they don't know the other fella's name," said her daughter.
Call your local law enforcement agency if you know these suspects or anything about this crime; you can do so anonymously.
