BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) - A 17-year-old Baldwin County teenager was killed in an auto accident on County Road 11 early Saturday morning, July 27, 2013.
His mother said alcohol may have been involved and contributed to the crash.
"I'm in shock and don't want to believe it," said Courtney Henderson, Forest Henderson's mother.
Forest Henderson was just 17-years-old when he died, in the front yard of a home in the 9000 block of County Road 11, about an eighth of a mile west of Keller Road.
He wanted to study agriculture and farming and he thought he had all the time in the world to decide on a career.
"He always had people laughing and smiling and he was just my heart," said the teen's mother.
Courtney said she warned her son about the dangers of drinking and driving, just days before his accident.
"I said, 'Momma says you're not supposed to drink and drive,' and just being young I guess he had to find out on his own and it's killing me, but he lost his life," she said.
The Alabama Department of Public Safety said Forest was killed when his truck left the road and flipped over.
One of Forest's friends, who happened to be working near the scene, told FOX10 News that Forest's truck was upside down, smashed flat and facing the opposite direction.
"It's devastating, he's was my only child; my baby and I really don't know what to do," said the teen's mother.
Courtney said another teen riding in the passenger seat survived the crash. She says he pulled Forest out of the truck after the accident, but medics could not revive him.
"I would do anything to bring him back," said Courtney.
Alabama DPS said Forest was not wearing his seatbelt.
Forest's mother said she has not made any funeral plans yet, but would like people to donate to the Future Forester's of America instead of sending flowers.
