ELBERTA, Ala. (WALA) - Baldwin County's Covered Bridge Festival took place Saturday, March 30. Live music, food and arts and crafts lined the path to the bridge.
For a $10 donation to St. Mary's Home in Mobile, visitors could drive right up to the bridge, which owner Claude Price built himself.
"I know the financial lead of the home, and I built this bridge hoping that when I'm gone, the home will still have financial income coming from it," Price said.
The bridge is 72 feet long and 27 feet wide and includes pedestrian walkways.
Price said he modeled it after the bridge he admired in New Hampshire.
