MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Authorities say a man arrested in Ohio is being charged with sexually assaulting a south Alabama teenager a decade ago.
U.S. marshals arrested 54-year-old Cheeley Andrew Hunter in Sylvania, Ohio, after surrounding his home and forcing their way inside.
The man is facing charges of raping a 14-year-old girl in the Baldwin County community of Marlow in 2003. Federal officials say he's been on the run since 2005.
Authorities say Hunter managed to elude law enforcement for years by taking odd jobs and paying his bills in cash. Marshals found him through an anonymous tip.
The man is currently in jail while awaiting extradition back to Alabama.
The Baldwin County district attorney's office is seeking the victim of the alleged assault to make her aware of developments in the case.
