OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) - Ocean Springs Mayor Connie Moran responds to Mississippi's open carry law by planning an ordinance to bar firearms on city property.
She tells WLOX-TV ( http://bit.ly/15wDKyR ) that she owns a gun and is a good shot, but would not bring the gun to city hall.
She says she thinks a majority of the board would feel that it's not appropriate for citizens to have weapons in city hall, during board meetings, in courtrooms, at the police station, or at ball parks.
Mississippi's open carry law is in legal limbo. A Hinds County judge indefinitely suspended it, calling it unconstitutionally vague.
