For September 17 and 18, David Woolworth of Oxford Acoustics has conducted sound tests within the building and around it to see how the sound travels.
“We ran a set of tests - about 12 hours of testing yesterday and about five hours of testing today. And we used some sample music and some sample base drops to take a look at the sound transfer, airborne sound transfer, and structural borne transfer. And then evaluating vibrations and isolating the speakers inside to see it affected the sound transfers to neighbors across the street and directly next door,” said Woolworth.
Woolworth went on to say because it is a historic structure, the building gets ‘excited’ easily and would have to find ways to isolate the building.
The landlord, Diggler LLC, presented an eviction notice to the Music Box. It has until the end of September.
