MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Council Traditional School was named a National Blue Ribbon School Tuesday, September 24.
The official announcement was made by the U.S. Department of Education.
The Blue Ribbon is awarded to schools where students perform at very high levels. Schools must be nominated by their states to received a Blue Ribbon.
"we are very proud to have another Mobile County public school recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School, which signifies their commitment to excellence in education," said Mobile County Public School System Superintendent Martha Peek.
Council is the eleventh public school in Mobile County to receive the award.
