MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile Police say 56-year-old James Bates slashed another man with a knife several times during a fight with the second man.
Police say the incident happened September 23, 2013 around 5:15 p.m. in the 900 block of Gorgas Street.
Investigators say the victim is an acquaintance of Bates.
The victim sought help at the Mobile Fire-Rescue station on Broad & Baltimore. Mobile Fire-Rescue Public Information Officer Steve Huffman says the 50-year-old male victim was transported to USA Medical Center for treatment.
Bates was arrested and charged with assault. He was booked into Metro jail around 4 a.m. September 24, 2013. He remains in jail without bond.
