MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The Mobile Police Department is investigating a shooting near Halls Mill and Azalea roads.
This comes days after Gary House was found dead near Moore Creek in the same area.
Mobile County District Attorney Ashley Rich said a BOLO had been issued for a stolen white Acura. She said Prichard police began the chase around 11:30 a.m., and Mobile police picked it up when it entered city limits.
Rich said the chase ended at Montlimar Apartments when the suspect got out of the car and fired a gun at officers. She said officers returned fire and the suspect, identified as 36-year-old Kenneth Lamar Bedgood, was killed.
MPD spokesperson Cpl. Chris Levy said no officers were injured in the shooting.
Rich said the shooting will be handled as an officer involved shooting and will be handed over to a grand jury for review.
Mobile Police are investigating an apparent shooting that left two people dead and one person injured. Witnesses said it happened around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Campus Quarters Apartments on University Boulevard.
