MOBILE, Ala .(WALA) - A man arrested for Hurricane Katrina fraud is back behind bars after being arrested for a DUI. John Daniel Mosley was arrested in 2006 after claiming to be a roofer and robbing a Mobile woman of $1,900.
He was sentenced to 15 years in prison, three of which he served.
On Wednesday night, August 21, he was arrested again - this time for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident. It happened at the intersection of Jeff Hamilton and McFarland in West Mobile.
Mobile Police said Mosley hit another car from behind. Police also said the most recent brush with the law might have an effect on his next sentence.
"He claimed to have broken down. We already knew that he was involved with that crash, so he was detained. We conducted our investigation and it was determined that he was under the influence,” said Corporal Chris Levy of the Mobile Police Department.
FOX10 News reached out to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office for comment on the cast. It is still under review at this time.
