MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - The mother of Brittney Wood is speaking out after 7 of her relatives and friends were either arrested or re-arrested last week for sex crimes against children.
Chessie Wood believes several of her family members are guilty of the crimes, specifically her sister Wendy Holland.
Wood announced Tuesday, October 29 that she believes some of the suspects even know where her daughter Brittney Wood may be.
Brittney has been missing for over a year and was last seen with Wendy’s husband, Donald Holland who later shot himself.
Chessie said she is outraged that she was most recently arrested for a 9-year old traffic ticket by several officers who showed up at her home.
She believes their resources could be better spent searching for her missing daughter.
“If the police department would spend a bit of their quality time to find my daughter,” said Wood, “we could have closure to my daughters disappearance.”
Chessie has been previously arrested and charged with sex crimes in connection to the same case.
She claims she and her brother Randall Scott Wood are innocent.
Wood said she is pushing for federal authorities to get involved in the cases since they cross jurisdictions and state lines.
