PENSACOLA, Fla. (WALA) - Terry Strickland said you could often find his friend Tiffany Daniels dancing or spending time on Pensacola Beach.
Now, that’s where hundreds are searching in hopes of any sign of the 25-year-old who has been missing since August 12, 2013.
“We all know these things happen every day, sadly. But you never expect it to happen to someone you love," said Strickland. "She didn’t care what people thought. She lives life to her own beat. She’s a free spirit who loves to travel and loves to dance. She just had such a big heart and was so full of life."
Daniels was last seen leaving her job as a theater technician at Pensacola State College. Her car was later found in the parking lot across from where a search and rescue command center is now set up.
More than 200 people turned out Sunday, including Escambia County Search and Rescue and the Klaas Kids Foundation.
Laurie Strite with the Klaas Kids Foundation said they've been focusing on searching Fort Pickens, Pensacola Beach and the dunes east of the Portofino Towers toward Navarre.
“We’ve identified items that we’re looking for. Items like a hat that might have blown off or sunglasses. We're looking for anything, besides her car, that will prove she was on this island," Strite said.
Those closest to Daniels said the support from the community means the world.
“A lot of people here are friends but most don’t know her. Words can’t express and thank you isn’t enough. But that’s all you can do at this point," said Strite.
Those with information on Tiffany's whereabouts are asked to call law enforcement at 850-435-1900.
