MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile Fire-Rescue responded to a second alarm house fire on the corner of Elmira Street and Marine Street. When they arrived on scene, officers tell FOX10 three houses were on fire.
Firefighters were able to contain the blaze.
Officials said the fire started at a house that was having work done and spread to two other homes. According to fire officials, only one of the homes was occupied. The homeowner who escaped told FOX10 he heard a loud noise before smelling the smoke.
Authorities said no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Many in the neighborhood however said they fear the fire was the work of an arsonist.
