SANTA ROSA COUNTY, Fla. (WALA) - The Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office said the body of a missing swimmer has been found.
The sheriff's office got a call on Saturday, July 20 to assist in the search. Navarre Beach Fire and the U.S. Coast Guard were also part of the search team.
Officials say the swimmer, identified as Jeremy Aaron Johnson, had been last seen just west of the fishing pier, in the Gulf.
After a search Johnson's body was found in the surf just before sunset, around a half mile east of the last pavilion in the county's park area of the beach.
According to officials, Johnson was vacationing in Navarre Beach. He was from New Orleans.
The case is still under investigation.
