MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile Police have arrested two teenagers accused of robbing two people in two separate incidents in west Mobile. Authorities said 18-year-old Aaron Hill and 19-year-old Isaiah Beard were taken into custody Monday night..
The first incident happened Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 3:15 in the afternoon. The male victim was walking home near Smokerise Drive and Ashwood Ct. when a vehicle pulled up beside him.
"One jumped out of the car, produced a handgun, and demanded property. The victim initially said they didn't have anything, and that's when they forced him in the car," said Cpl. Chris Levy.
The two suspects drove the victim to Smokerise Dr. and Airport Blvd. where the suspects demanded the victim's property again. The victim gave the suspects his wallet and cell phone, exited the vehicle and called police. The victim was not injured in the incident.
The second incident happened Monday night at 9:50 at the Home Depot on Schillinger Road. An employee was taking out the trash in the back of the business when a vehicle approached him.
"We had a store employee at the Home Depot that was taken the trash out. When he was outside, our suspects approached him. One of them jumped out of the car, produced a handgun and made some demands. Took his wallet and cell phone," said Levy.
A short time later, officers spotted the vehicle described in the incidents near Pleasant Valley and El Camino Drive. Officers pulled over the vehicle and arrested Hill and Beard.
"An alert officer observed the vehicle on Pleasant Valley Road and made a stop. It was our suspects from both robberies," Levy said.
Hill and Beard are both charged with two counts of robbery and one count of kidnapping.
