MOBILE, Ala. - Apple is giving to help those affected by Superstorm Sandy. CEO Tim Cook announced thru email that Apple employees and customers raised millions towards relief efforts, and added that Apple can always do more.
The tech company donated $2.5 million dollars for Sandy relief. Additional millions were raised thru a donation link on Apple's home page.
Apple also used it's iTunes user base to help out with recovery efforts back in 2011 when the tsunami and earthquake devastated the east coast of Japan.
From helping others to protecting yourself: A new iPhone case called the Spraytect has been created with a sleek little compartment that holds pepper spray.
Users just snap a can of spray on the back, and if ever in danger, release a safety clip, hold it horizontally, and press a button on the side of the phone, much like taking a picture.
