PENSACOLA, Florida (WALA) - UPDATE: Thursday, February 24 5:52 p.m. An empty car belonging to a missing Pensacola man has been found on the campus of the University of West Florida.
The 2007 blue four-door Pontiac Vibe belonging to William "Billy" Shores, 47, was found around 3 p.m. parked near Building 13 near the UWF nature trail.
K-9s from Escambia Search and Rescue and the Escambia County Sheriff's Office are searching UWF property for Shores. Pensacola and University of West Florida police officers are handling the investigation.
Wedesday, February 23: Pensacola Police need help in finding a man who left his home last Friday and has not been heard from since.
William "Billy" James Shores, 47, of Keating Road was last seen around 12:30 p.m. February 18 by his mother, Jenanette Shores. Both were driving vehicles and waved as they passed each other.
He does not have a history of disappearing and not communicating with his mother. Shores left his cell phone and some cash at his residence.
Shores is described as white male, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and about 180 pounds. He has brown eyes and is bald.
Officials say Shores drives a 2007 blue 4-door Pontiac Vibe with a Florida license tag of A257PJ. There is a "Chapel Renew" sticker on the rear of the vehicle and a green "Go Irish" sticker on the rear glass window.
Anyone having information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Pensacola Police Department at 435-1900.
