MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Mobile Police have arrested the second suspect wanted in connection to a violent armed robbery in Prichard.
Joseph Caples, 24, is charged with one count of first-degree robbery and one count of second degree assault.
The crime happened Sunday, June 30 at the Petro Station on St. Stephens Road. The store clerk says Caples pistol whipped her before forcing her into a backroom. There, she says he tried to shoot her three times but the clip fell out of the gun.
Mobile County District Attorney Ashley Rich told FOX10 News Caples may face attempted murder charges if the accusations prove true.
A second suspect in the case, Zachery Moore, has also been arrested. He's charged with first degree robbery and remains in jail.
The trial for Giuseppe Pino LoPorto continues today in Baldwin County. LoPorto, now 80-years-old, faces several sex abuse charges against a child dating back to the early 90s.
