PRICHARD, Ala. (WALA) - A family in Prichard is pleading for help to catch a loved one's murderer. Re'mano Campbell was gunned down at his home in Eight Mile in October.
The Campbell family called a press conference Monday to ask for information leading to an arrest.
Campbell's mother, Patricia, said it's hard dealing with the holidays knowing her son's murderer is on the loose.
"It's always been our fun time as a family and it's just really been hard," said Campbell.
They are hoping $10,000 will help.
Campbell's aunt, Tamsey Zine, and his cousin came up with the money for a reward.
"Money talks. People talk when they hear this kind of reward and that's why we went so big with it. It's not enough," said Zine.
It's been two months with no arrests. Prichard Police Detective Dwight King said they have several suspects in mind, but none in custody.
"It's not a point of locating these individuals. It's a point of actually building a stronger case," said King.
King said robbery was not the motive, nor do they think it was a random act of violence.
"We do believe he may have known those individuals," said King.
Police are waiting for evidence to return back from the Department of Forensic Science. In the meantime, the family is not giving up. Campbell's brother, Patrick Zine, said they will continue to fight, which is true to Campbell's spirit.
"My brother was always a family guy and he always took care of business and right now we are a family that's going to take care of this business because were going to get the murderer and don't think that for one day that we're not trying as hard as we are and don't think for one day that Prichard Police Department is resting off this case because its going to be done," said Zine.
Campbell's mother is a chaplain with the Prichard Police Department. The same day her son was murdered, her house caught fire .
She is still living in a hotel until she can get her home back.
