MOBILE, Ala. - Twitter has made changes to its site after complaints that it wasn't doing enough to curb hate speech.
Yesterday, they announced new features including a "report abuse" button on individual tweets. This should make it easier to flag threatening tweets. About a week ago, an issue of gender politics in the U.K. got nasty on Twitter. Activist Caroline Criado-Perez won her fight to put author Jane Austen on the 10 pound note.
Afterwards, she received tweets threatening rape and violence. British police arrested one man, but critics say Twitter did not act quickly enough.
A ban on imports of some Apple iPads and iPhones has been vetoed. This reverses a ruling in favor of Samsung. The ban was issued in June, after ruling the products violate a patent held by Samsung. Over the weekend, a U.S. trade representative overturned the ban, saying it gave Samsung too much leverage over competitors.

Those are questions raised after this news: The Washington Post newspaper will be purchased by Amazon.com founder and CEO Jeff Bezos for $250 million dollars. Bezos is known for spearheading the electronic book industry and will operate the Post independent of Amazon. He says that no layoffs are planned as of now.
