Store owner Juan Gomez told FOX10 News he is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the shooting.
Police say the 21-year-old was behind the counter when a robber came in and demanded money around 10 p.m. Thursday. Allen died the next day at a local hospital.
Nearly every day before Allen reported to his job at the pizza store, he made a stop at the gas station across the street to fill up his car. The clerk, Courtney Greer, said another driver came in with news of Allen's death.
"She said that she called in, and he had, I guess he covered her shift for her, so he took her shift, and she was like, it could have been her," she said.
Greer said she didn't know much about the young man who was a regular customer, but she remembers he was fun-loving.
"I'm sorry to hear about that, but he was like an everyday customer coming to get gas for delivery," she said.
Gomez said he plans to post flyers in the area about the reward. He said losing an employee is like losing a family member, and he considers it personal.
Allen lived alone less than three miles from the pizza store where he worked.
