S.H.A.P.E. stands for - Strength, Health, Ability, Performance, Endurance. Josh Mosner and his best friend Aleah Danford co-own the personal training studio.
They opened the gym a little over a year ago now, and have hired two other trainers since. Josh has 8 years personal training experience and Aleah has 6 years. Josh has a bachelors degree from South Alabama in Exercise Sciences and a certification in Nutrition. Aleah has a Masters from South Alabama in Exercise sciences.
They are not trainers that just have certifications, they also have degree's in the field. They previously worked at Springhill Athletic Club together for roughly 5 years before branching out to open their own place.
Josh has been a firefighter/EMT for Mobile since 2006. Born and raised in Mobile, went to B.C. Rain, then accepted a baseball scholarship to Southern Union Community College, after two years there accepted a scholarship to springhill college, then finished school at South. Aleah is originally from Auburn, moved down here to attend South Alabama. They both have experience training anyone from athletes, to the average joe, kids and the elderly.
They want people to know how important health and fitness is. It's important to make a lifestyle change for the better and incorporate exercise and better eating habits into their lives. This will help them to become more healthy and reduce the possibility of many diseases and illnesses. Obesity has been a problem in the U.S. for a long time and especially the south. It's also important to get help from a qualified trainer if you need it. Someone that can work with you one on one to make sure you have correct form when working out and also to guide you along with nutrition. It never hurts to get help if you don't know! Most people just have no idea where to even start. Us trainers at SHAPE can help you with that.
S.H.A.P.E. is a unique facility because there is also a hair salon in the same building. The owner of the salon is a good friend and the building was remodeled specifically with this concept in mind. However, there are walls and doors to seperate so each business has its privacy. With that said, you can hit up one side to take care of your hair, nails, and face... then hit the gym to take care of your body!
The key is to get off the couch and get started. For more information about S.H.A.P.E. or to set up a personal consultation:
