BAYOU LA BATRE, Ala. (WALA) - At least one shrimper was taken into custody Wednesday morningafter a group of shrimp boats formed a blockade at the mouth ofMobile Bay.
The shrimpers and commercial fishermen say they were protestingBP's hiring practices. Many believe BP is hiring recreational boatsand out of state boats instead of the commercial fishermen to helpclean up from the massive oil leak in the Gulf of Mexico.
The shrimpers and fishermen say they have tried to get BP tolisten to their concerns, but they couldn't make their voices heardso they staged the protest.
Marine Police were called to the scene.
BP says it will speak with the shrimpers about theirconcerns.
