MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Roosevelt Hopkins and Agee Williams have been arrested on first degree robbery charges. The incident happened back in October near the intersection of State and Kennedy Streets when a repo man came to take the vehicle in which the two were riding.
"Now, it wasn't their car, this was a car they had acquired through narcotic activity. The repo man had nothing to do with that he was simply there to get the car," said Cpl. Chris Levy.
However, Hopkins and Williams did not want to give up the car.
"Mr. Williams and Mr. Hopkins then produced handguns and they demanded money from the repo man because they believed the money they had paid in this narcotic activity was owed to them before the car got repoed," said Levy.
No one was injured in the incident. Williams was arrested November 6th, Hopkins was arrested November 15 This isn't the first time these two have seen the back of a police car. According to jail records, charges of possession of a controlled substance, receiving stolen property, burglary, and domestic violence are just some of what the two have been arrested for.
With this most recent incident, both are facing robbery 1st charges.
According to jail records, both remain in Mobile Metro Jail, with hearings scheduled in the upcoming weeks.
